Dua Lipa surprised an unsuspecting guy with a golden chance that he might have missed. The singer and a reporter approached the man on the street in a clip released by BBC Radio 1 on X, where they give him a sneak peek of her latest track, “Houdini.”
The video features a journalist and Dua Lipa, the talented singer of the hit song “Levitating”, approaching a man who seems to be unaware of who she is. However, he admits to having heard of her. The clip then goes back to the moment when the idea was conceived. The journalist suggests playing Dua’s new song for someone outside the BBC before anyone else in the world has heard it. The two are then seen sitting outside, scanning the area for potential candidates.
“We have to be cautious in our selection process. We wouldn’t want to pick someone who isn’t a Dua Lipa enthusiast,” he cautioned. To this, Lipa, aged 28, replied, “That’s actually what we want, I believe.” Once they find the suitable candidate, they approach him and inform him that he is going to listen to her latest track.
While wearing his headphones, he enjoyed the music and expressed his satisfaction by smiling and nodding his head. He commented that the track was great and it would be hard for anyone not to appreciate it. The upbeat rhythm made him feel happy, and he even mentioned how he would happily dance along to it.
Earlier on this month, Lipa took to social media to announce her latest song and even shared the artwork for the single. In the caption, she included the release date and paid homage to the talented magician Harry Houdini by adding an emoji of handcuffs which was in reference to one of his most popular stunts.
Lipa has been up to some tricks prior to the big reveal. She recently made headlines after clearing out her Instagram and TikTok accounts and updating her profile picture on Instagram to a fresh photo of herself and on TikTok and streaming platforms to an eye-catching kaleidoscopic image. These antics have led to the announcement of her new project, “Houdini.”
There’s a lot of buzz among fans that Lipa’s upcoming album era will kick off with the release of “Houdini.” It’s been a little while since she dropped a full album, with her Grammy-winning Future Nostalgia project coming out in 2020. That release was a huge success and gave us some of her most popular tracks including “Levitating” and “Break My Heart.”
It’s been quite some time since the singer released a full-length album, but she has been keeping her fans happy with a number of hit singles over the past three years. One of her latest offerings is a collaboration with producer Mark Ronson for the Barbie soundtrack, titled “Dance the Night Away.”
